My Aisle

As the world has shifted into a post Covid-19 landscape, many consumers have made the switch to buying their groceries online. My Aisle is an app plugin to be incorporated into online grocery shopping platforms. It adds interactive elements to the grocery ordering experience through the inclusion of mini-games, recipe sharing and aspects of social media including game leaderboards and sharing shopping habits. For the demonstration of My Aisle it is shown with the Kroger brand as example of use. Chores no longer have to be boring, grocery shopping is now an exciting and interactive experience. Ditch clipping coupons and start playing games!

Project Process Book

To decide on the context of this project, I started researching current trends in design, commerce, technology, and culture. A trend from each category became a part of the inspiration and solution of My Aisle. These trends included gamification, online shopping, digital acceleration, and personalization. The overlap of current trends became the inspiration of My Aisle. Next I looked into similar services on the market to find an opportunity for design.

As many consumers have migrated to shopping for groceries online rather than going to a physical supermarket, there is a want to have an exciting method of shopping online. Stores are also losing out on sales from impulse purchasing, and new products go unseen due to shoppers buying the same products. By having a more interactive method of online grocery shopping, shoppers can be enticed to buy different products as well as have an enjoyable experience outside of just adding items to their cart. This product targets anyone who buys groceries online or anyone who may be thinking about buying online rather than in-person.
