QSR Drive Through
Fall 2021

Drive throughs present many issues— Delays in the linear processes, staff shortages, limited wayfinding, especially when lines wrap around the building. Within these areas, there is opportunity to create a truly innovative and efficient drive through experience.
To do this, we designed a drive through that breaks up the linearity by separating out lanes based on order method and complexity. We reduced customer's cognitive load of the customer by guiding them to correct and most efficient lane. Lastly, and most importantly, we created delightful interactions and experience regardless of the order size or method.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought many developments in design, particularly in the obtaining and exchanging of goods. Restaurants particularly saw a rise in kiosk and QR code based ordering experiences. Looking to the future, these four students, lovingly nicknamed Nicolette and the Noodles, sought to design an ordering experience for the future.
Their final design was a projection based interface that allows users to select different preferences and criteria to highlight matching foods on their menu. This way, users could overcome decision paralysis and more easily find food they would enjoy.

Fuel pumps and parking lots dominate, neglecting human needs. Community Charge welcomes the pedestrian and driver into a human-centric space where they gain time.
From work to green spaces, urban residents can connect with friends and neighbors in ever-growing cities. This experience eliminates the worry about how to park and charge your car, and allows ownership in a shared area
