School of Industrial Design Hosts 2023 Pumpkin Ramble

The School of Industrial Design's Pumpkin Ramble is back, now as student activity hosted by the student Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) chapter.

"It's pretty much our most popular event," said Rebecca Scarbrough, Sophomore IDSA representative. "It's a competition, and of course, being Industrial Design majors, creativity and competition are things we love."

"Industrial Design students are perfect for carving pumpkins," said Kevin Shankwiler, senior lecturer and undergraduate program coordinator. "It requires creative thinking, to come up with an idea; artistry, to bring that idea to life; and you have to understand the pumpkin itself as a material of manufacture."
