To me, design is the never ending process of creating improvements in products and in the world. This idea of very open-ended problem solving is what I love about about all variants of the design field. From my years at Georgia Tech, I have found passions in user research, concept iteration, graphic components, and product design which creates a better experience for the people who use it.

The Clinique Marker

The Clinique Marker

Teammates:  Ashlyn Sasser, Joe Bakas
Class: ID 3041  |  Instructor: Samuel Harris

Our goal for this project was to translate the branding language, as well as values, of Clinique and their products into some sort of writing utensil. After extensive research, our group defined the important elements of the brand, the targeted user, the forms and finishings of the products, and the place Clinique falls in the market of cosmetics. This information steered our design decisions and resulted in a marker we feel is a true embodiment of the Clinique brand.

BMW i3 Wheel for MOMO

BMW i3 Wheel for MOMO

Class: ID 3041  |  Instructor: Samuel Harris

The task provided for this project was to identify future design directions for the automotive wheel and translate them into a wheel design which fits within the MOMO brand and is meant for a targeted car. In addition to this, the new wheel design must also be scaled down to be appropriate for a Hot Wheels toy car. The design shown here is my final proposal for a wheel rim MOMO might make for a BMW i3, a car chosen because I felt electric cars are the future. This wheel fits within the brand requirements of MOMO as well as BMW and is an attractive rim alternative for the i3.

Base Press

Base Press

Class: ID 3041  |  Instructor: Samuel Harris

Base Press is a variable system capable of adjusting the typical filtration process to satisfy the user as well as providing new opportunities for these users to utilize the product. The product does so with the addition of a rotating filter plate, to accommodate different sizes of coffee grounds, and a muddler attachment which creates a new way to use the product. It’s design and brand language reflect the functional and aesthetic needs of the target user, while still creating an innovative and unique french press.
