Group Members: Andres Asmundson, Jiachen Li
Class: ID 3510 | Instructor: Hyun Joo and Sang Leigh
Many people can struggle with emotional intelligence, which can potentially cause conflict when in relationships with people who experience strong, negative emotions. This device was created to allow people to experience an overwhelming negative interactions of another person using a helmet with vibration motors, a resistive heater, LEDs, and a servo motor. Rather than making users experience exactly the same emotions, the helmet needs to simulate and amplify these intense emotions. Although the final effect of this helmet is somewhat similar to punishment, users can have a better understanding of each other and achieve a deeper level of empathy through this punishment.
Grapevine
Class: ID 3824 | Instructor: John White
Grapevine is a remote tutoring application that helps to pair students with tutors based on need and expertise. Students have the ability to chose their tutor based on suggestions and can quickly begin learning. Built in resources allow for students and tutors to brush up on their familiarity of a topic with videos, practice problems and question boards. Tools in video call feature ensure that students and tutors are never unprepared to learn or teach. A social media aspect of the application informs students of new fields of study and opens doors for students to pick up skills and knowledge they previously would have unavailable to them.

Helix Floor Lamp
Class: Sophomore Studio | Instructor: Lisa Marks
The design goal of the floor lamp is to have the piece both create a new and unique impact on the space when turned on, and remain an interesting form in the space when off. The Helix floor lamp is designed for personal offices and studio spaces as both a mood setting and decorative piece. When turned on, the bright white light fills the user with energy and changes the form of the room to promote a productive mood by means of conditioning. The form and the openings for light on the extremities of the lamp give the appearance of radii on the walls adjacent to the lamp, by contrasting the projected light with "void" spaces between the extensions of the lamp.

Once the time is set, hold your hand over the front sensor until you hear and audible beep, and begin seeing the time count down. further adjustments can be easily made
Living Edge Bamboo Stool
Class: Furniture Making | Instructor: Chris Hardy
The Living Edge Bamboo Stool is a completely biodegradable piece of furniture that takes advantage of materials, adhesives, and lashes that all natural degrade. Another focus of the design was on the interesting qualities of pipes when viewed from different orthographic perspectives. Taking advantage of this characteristic and applying it to the bent plywood frame allowed for a cohesive natural rounded element of the product that could be consistently found throughout the piece.
