Kwon Honored with IDSA Education Award

The Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) has awarded EunSook Kwon, chair of the School of Industrial Design, with their Education Award.

At the IDSA awards ceremony, the IDSA Education Director, Verena Paepcke-Hjeltness, cited Kwon's exceptional leadership and dedication in the field of design academia. "Dr. Kwon's approach is student-centered, founded on constructivism, and she has inspired countless students to achieve award-winning success in their careers," she said.

"One of her nominators describes her as an outstanding educator who values both academic excellence and design excellence simultaneously."

"The IDSA is the professional society of our discipline," said Kevin Shankwiler, senior lecturer and undergraduate program coordinator for the School. "It serves to both further the discipline of industrial design and practice as well as the education of new generations of industrial designers."

Kwon became the fourth faculty member from the School to receive this award.
