Biography

Kimberly Snyder is the Foundation Lead of the School of Industrial Design at Georgia Institute of Technology, coordinating the 1st and 2nd year program. She previously taught for two decades at Parsons School of Design and Pratt Institute, focusing on Furniture Design, Prototyping, Coordination and Curriculum Development. Snyder has a background in sculpture and furniture design. 

She holds an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Post Master's Certificate in Leadership and Change from the Milano School of Policy, Management, and Environment at the New School University, obtained in 2018.

Statement of Teaching Interest

Professor Snyder serves as the Foundation Lead for the Industrial Design program. She teaches first and second year studio courses, as well as electives focused on sustainable community design and furniture design.

Statement of Research Interest

Professor Snyder’s research investigates sustainable product design strategies that minimize environmental impact while contributing to the long-term meaningful benefits within communities.
