Madeleine Hadd

Undergraduate

Hello. My name is Madeleine Hadd. Some of my design skills include sketching forms and digital rendering. I always start my design process with form sketches and aesthetic research. I am heavily influenced by nature and culture and I strive for a simple, natural look in all of my projects. This semester I am proud of all the things I learned about welding and 3D modeling. Being pushed beyond my comfort zone like this was difficult at first, however I am really pleased with the results.

KitchenAid Brand Language Project

KitchenAid Brand Language Project

Teammate:  Jay Taylor
Class: ID 3041  |  Instructor: Samuel Harris

Our first project was constructed in groups. Each group was assigned a company and tasked to design a writing device while maintaining the brand's aesthetics and core values. My partner and I decided to research KitchenAid’s iconic stand mixer and redesign it as a bread lame.

Several renders of a gardening pot with a seat attached to it.

Gardening Bucket Project

Class: ID 3041  |  Instructor: Samuel Harris

The second project was built around modularity. I received a lot of insightful information from a very specific user group. With this information, I was able to create a gardening bucket that doubles as an organized storage unit for tools and a wooden stool.

Two renders of tire detailing.

MOMO Car Project

Our final project this semester was supported by both MOMO Tires and Hotwheels.

Loch Licht

Loch Licht

Class: ID 2024  |  Instructor: Kimberly Snyder

Loch Licht is a reading light that provides soft, warm light. Reading a book under white, high frequency light is scientifically proven to strain your eyes. This lamp prevents such ailments from occurring. Illumination bright enough to light your book, but soft enough to not disturb those around you.

Renders of several clear boxes with colorful lids and timers.

Team Members:  Callie Barrentine, Ian Harmon, Jay Taylor
Class: ID 2510  |  Instructors: Yaling Liu, Sang-Won Leigh, Wei Wang

HØLD is a "smart tupperware" organization system that is a add-on to one's fridge. It tracks how long each tupperware has been in the fridge and can remind you to eat stored food such as leftovers or prepped meals. Our product supports eco-consumption by its inherent waste reduction feature. It helps users stay up-to-date on their wasteful habits.

Hypodrop

Hypodrop

Class: ID 2024  |  Instructor: Kimberly Snyder

Hypodrop is a non-invasive device that measures a user's metabolism and blood sugar. Through metabolic technology, it aims to prevent blood sugar crashes and regulate weight within athletes.

If a user is hungry and need to determine what to eat before a scheduled practice, they simply put their thumb on the biosensor and grip the rest of the system. The user then breathes in and out of the system. The blood pressure and metabolic data is then sent to an accompanying app that informs the user about what nutrient their body is burning (carbohydrates or fats).
