Yoo
Class: ID 2024 | Instructor: Steve Chininis
Yoo is a reusable floss-pick and floss holder, storing floss rolls that are biodegradable and sustainably packaged. Its ergonomic form and light-hearted design encourages people to floss; while reducing the waste brought upon by traditional, single-use floss containers.
Avo
Class: ID 2024 | Instructor: Steve Chininis
The goal of the sophomore lamp project was to design a standing light-fixture that fit appropriately and served a certain environment. For the Avo lamp, I chose Avo yoga studio, located in Atlanta, Ga. I learned through field research that creating an ambiance is so important to how yoga instructor's engage with their clients in a space. I focused on creating a form and using materials that reflected the values of studio. I plan to give them the lamp after COVID-19.
3D Modeling Project
Class: ID 2102 | Instructor: Tim Purdy
The Sophomore Spring 3D Modeling project challenged me to learn the SolidWorks software and to think about the limitations and allowances of any product's articulative and interactive capabilities. I decided to make a light up toy with a spinning head. In this project, I learned about how different computers, electronics, and widgets can be integrated into a system.
BluTooth Speaker
Class: ID 2024 | Instructor: Steve Chininis
The goal of the sophomore studio health project was to think about a futuristic application of solving student health needs. Using Fusion 360's Computer Aided Software, I modeled a device that purified the air and also was a BluTooth speaker. The goal was to encourage students to want to purchase an air purifier by integrating it into something they already value. Through this assignment, I learned of many practical factors that go into making a functional air purifier. I plan on doing more research to figure out how I can realistically integrate the purification technology, allowing form to follow function.
