Welcome to Launchpad Design Showcase
Our Launchpad Design Showcase shows off work from all Georgia Tech School of Industrial Design students. At the end of each semester, this well-attended event allows our students, their families, alumni and industry guests to connect, network, and take in the breadth and depth of our School's innovative design work.
There's a lot to experience at the Launchpad Design Showcase: we display several types of industrial design work, including materials exploration, healthcare products and innovations, future interactive experiences, collaborative designs with engineers, service design projects, strategic branding, and UX.
The 10th Anniversary Launchpad Design Showcase took place Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 6 - 9 p.m.

ID 1803: Industrial Design Fundamentals
The first year studio introduces the theory and practice of Industrial Design in the studio setting. Designers learn techniques to generate effective visual representation of products, services, and systems.
ID 2024: Industrial Design Studio II
The second-year studio allows students to expand their skills into more advanced concepts. An important goal of this studio is to teach students the skill of researching and designing for people who are not like themselves.
ID 3032: Health and Well Being Studio II
This studio applies the design process at a system level to advanced multidisciplinary problems focused on the development of new and/or improved products, systems, and technologies to improve health and health-related behaviors.
ID 3042: Product Development and Innovation Studio II
This product development studio course provides students with a structured approach to learning creative methods for researching, analyzing, prototyping, and developing new product solutions in a variety of areas.
ID 3052: Interactive Products Studio
i. This course aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge to apply systematic design methods to projects with a focus on sensor-based technology.
ID 4062: ID Capstone Studio
The Capstone Studio is not the usual “one size fits all” course as it offers the freedom to choose risky and experimental self-directed projects that have strong Design impact.
ID 4072: Innovation Studio
This studio offers comprehensive projects incorporating an iterative approach to user-centered design development of products, systems & services with emphasis on invention, innovation and entrepreneurship.
ID 4082: ID/Engineering Capstone Studio
Students work in teams to apply a systematic design process to real multi-disciplinary problems. Problems selected from a broad spectrum of interest areas, including biomedical, environmental, mechanical, industrial design, electrical and thermal/fluids.
ID 4863: Design for Body Fit
Designing products to fit the human head are challenging due to the complexity of fit. This course explores the four factors that influence the successful design of head worn products: anthropometrics, comfort, vanity and social acceptance.
ID 4863: Design with Access in Mind
Design with Access in Mind introduces industrial design students to accessibility as a foundation for reimagining how products shape human experience and participation.
