Herb Velazquez is Principal at G Design LLC in Alpharetta, Georgia, and is a Professor of Practice at the School of Industrial Design at Georgia Institute of Technology. He has more than 30 years of professional experience as an industrial design leader within the healthcare field with three global corporations: GE Healthcare, Siemens Healthcare, and Kimberly-Clark, as well as his current design practice at G Design LLC.

He has won national and international awards for his work, including the prestigious IDSA Catalyst Award, two IDSA Gold Awards, International Forum Design GmbH’s iF Best in Medical Award, and Belgium Product of the Year.

He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and a Master of Science in Design from the Institute of Design at Illinois Institute of Technology.

Velazquez is particularly interested in advancing healthcare design thinking and innovation within the School of Industrial Design. He teaches undergraduate and graduate level classes to introduce design methods and strategies that advance health and wellness solutions.
